Shree Samaj is managing a senior secondary school. This CBSE recognized and Govt. aided school is granting high quality education through Hindi medium. We submit humbly that no other school has such beautiful complex/ facilities/ low fees. Samaj in collaboration with Gujarat Youngmen's Association distributes free text books to all students. Bus fees are heavily discounted by Samaj. School uniform and full concession are also granted to needy students. Perhaps due to financial support/ facilities made available by Shree Samaj/ good results our school is called 'COMMON MAN'S PUBLIC SCHOOL'. Shree Samaj is fully supporting a primary school at resettlement colony of Jahangirpuri. This school caters to the special needs of students from economically weaker section. Students in this school are given special training upto IV class and are brought to a level from where they can be inducted in our senior secondary school.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Shree Samaj complex is used by various social organisation for their activities and by individuals for their function. Registered social organisations are given special facilities and rebate for use of our complex. Our complex also caters to the needs of Commercial organisation and merchant association situated within walled city area of Chandni Chowk, Khari Baoli, Tilak Bazar, Sadar Bazar, Karol Bagh. These organisations/ associations use our complex for their annual programmes and meetings etc. We are proud that Lt. Governor of Delhi/ Govt. of Delhi/ Delhi Police/ Labour Commissioners’ Office and many other Government and non -Government organizations use our complex for their meetings/ activities.

Blood donation camps are organised by Shree Samaj and Shree Samaj supports blood donation camps organized by other Gujarati Associations. National records for individual blood donation is held by a Delhi Gujarati, Shri Suresh Bhai Kamdar.

On completion of 100 golden years of service Shree Samaj has decided to establish a ‘Diagnostic Centre’ as its Centenary Year Project. This centre will be equipped with state of art facilities and will be dedicated to the citizens of Delhi. Shree Samaj has also decided that services of this centre will be made available to economically weaker sections totally free of charge.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

In old Delhi, there is only one place for cultural activities, i.e. Mahatma Gandhi Sanskritik Kendra/ Shah Auditorium by Shree Samaj. Shree Samaj organises cultural programmes, plays and programmes of classical/ folk dances/ music/ etc. Small groups and associations active in cultural fields are given special concessions. Deserving organisation rendering outstanding services (like NAVJYOTI FOUNDATION active in the field of drugs de-addiction) are allowed to use our facilities totally free of charge. Shree Samaj also organises ‘GUJARAT UTSAV’ every year which showcases and promotes crafts, cuisine and culture of Gujarat.

TOURISM PROMOTION

Shree Samaj is playing a very important role in promotion of tourism in Delhi. Gujaratis are settled all over India and world and are travel enthusiasts. Maximum Gujaratis are found at any tourist destination. To cater to the needs of these tourists Shree Samaj has built a Guest House (95 rooms and 12 dormitories). Over a lakh tourists take advantage of these facilities every year. We provide excellent lodging/ boarding facilities, facilities for local sight seeing/ visit to Agra-Mathura-Vrindavan, Haridward-Rishikesh etc, STD/ ISD facilities, Rail/ Air Ticket booking facilities, etc at out guest house. All this facilities are provided at nominal charges covering administrative costs only.

It is our humble submission that through out India there is no other NGO doing such outstanding work in the field of Tourism Promotion. We are proud to add that our Guest House was chosen to accommodate freedom fighters who came to attend MARCH OF THE NATION celebration on completion of 50 years of India’s independence.

We are proud that great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Morarjibhai Desai, Dada Saheb Kalelkar, etc have visited and blessed Shree Samaj in past. Recently President Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma and Prime Minister Indrakumar Gujral have graced Centenary Year Celebration’s function.

In recognition of services rendered by Shree Samaj and Samaj’s role in development and progress of Delhi Govt. of NCT of Delhi has decided to honour Shree Delhi Gujarati Samaj.
